Bachelor of Ayurveda Medical & Surgery (BAMS) – The program is a five-and-a-half-year undergraduate course that offers an integrated curriculum, combining a broad range of subjects from both traditional Ayurveda and modern medical systems. This comprehensive program also includes a one-year mandatory internship, providing students with hands-on experience and practical exposure in the field.
The program covers a diverse range of subjects, including physiology, modern anatomy, pharmacology, medicine, ENT, forensic medicine, principles and rules of surgery, standards of solutions, legal drugs, and herbal science, alongside various topics related to Ayurveda.
Students pursuing a Bachelor of Ayurveda must possess strong concentration and determination, as the curriculum involves extensive reading of both modern scientific texts and ancient Ayurvedic scriptures.
Ayurveda is rapidly gaining popularity not only in India but also in the Western world, thanks to its natural healing properties with minimal side effects. This is largely due to the use of medicines derived from natural herbs, plants, and vegetables.
