“Law is not just a subject but a means to deliver and safeguard justice: Chancellor”
Farrukhabad: At the Faculty of Law of Major S.D. Singh University, a fresher’s party titled “Vidhi Aarambham” was organised for newly admitted students, where Samra was crowned Miss Fresher and Ehtesham was chosen Mr. Fresher. The newcomers, along with their seniors, enjoyed the celebration with great enthusiasm.
On this occasion, the speakers said that law is not merely an academic subject but a medium to deliver justice to society and to protect it.
The fresher’s party Vidhi Aarambham, held in the auditorium of the Faculty of Law, was inaugurated by Chancellor Dr. Anar Singh, Pro-Chancellor Dr. Anchal Singh, Vice-Chancellor Dr. Ranganath Mishra, Registrar Ranjit Singh, and Dean Dr. Rajpal Singh by lighting a lamp before the idol of Goddess Saraswati.
In his brief address, Chancellor Dr. Anar Singh said that the newly admitted students are beginning a new journey in the field of law. Law is not just a subject but a means to guide society and safeguard justice. He advised students to make honesty, discipline, and hard work an integral part of their lives and to become ideal citizens. He added that the university’s goal is not just to grant degrees but to develop character, ethics, and a sense of responsibility among students. He urged them to study not merely to build a career but to use education as a tool for social service and nation-building.
Pro-Chancellor Dr. Anchal Singh expressed pride and happiness in welcoming new students to the university family. He said all students are the future jurists, lawyers, and social reformers of the nation. The field of law is not just about knowledge but also about service, sensitivity, and responsibility. He wished the freshers a bright future and assured them that the university will always strive for their holistic development.
Dean Dr. Rajpal Singh stated that the university is committed to providing students not only academic education but also practical experience and strong moral values. He emphasized that if today’s youth move forward with the right direction and discipline, the nation’s progress is assured. He encouraged new students to make the best use of opportunities, maintain a positive outlook, and apply their legal studies toward justice and social welfare. He thanked all the guests for attending the program and extended his best wishes to the freshers.
On this occasion, law students presented colourful performances and set the stage alive with their talent. Among those present were Dr. Vinay Katiyar, Dr. Ajit Kumar, Rajeev Kumar, Udit Agnihotri, Anshika, Ramchandra, Shaily, Siddharth Singh, Dr. Geeta Singh, and others.
