Diet and Seasonal Nutrition Club
Introduction
The Diet and Seasonal Nutrition Club of Major SD Singh University is an academic and experiential platform under faculty mentorship. The Club focuses on practical learning related to Ahara (diet), seasonal nutrition, healthy food choices, dietary habits, food preparation, and nutrition counselling in the context of Ayurveda and contemporary health science. It provides students with opportunities to connect classroom concepts with practical dietary assessment, seasonal planning, community awareness, and patient-oriented counselling.
The Club promotes an understanding of the relationship between food, season, lifestyle, and health. It encourages students to appreciate the principles of Pathya-Apathya, Ritucharya, balanced nutrition, appropriate food portions, hygienic food practices, and individualized dietary advice. Through faculty-guided activities, the Club aims to strengthen practical competence and responsible communication of nutrition information.

Read More →- ✓ Eligibility: Membership and participation are primarily intended for Ayurveda students of Major SD Singh University under the guidance of the faculty committee.
- ✓ Faculty Guidance: Nutrition demonstrations, counselling practice, outreach activities, and academic programmes shall be conducted under appropriate faculty supervision.
- ✓ Responsible Nutrition Communication: Students shall communicate nutrition information responsibly and avoid presenting individualized therapeutic advice without appropriate faculty or clinical supervision.
- ✓ Food Safety & Hygiene: All food demonstrations, preparation activities, sampling, and handling shall follow appropriate hygiene and food-safety practices.
- ✓ Academic Integrity: Students shall use reliable academic sources for assignments, presentations, and research documentation and shall clearly distinguish traditional claims from contemporary evidence.
- ✓ Active Involvement: Enrolled student members are expected to participate regularly in scheduled Club activities, documentation, awareness programmes, and academic events.
- ✓ Professional Conduct: Students shall maintain discipline, respectful communication, cleanliness, and proper conduct during all Club and community activities.
